Books
about training
martial arts is another topic
that I figure really should be of interest to you
as a combative arts student or teacher.
|
Side
note: Before you read on, make
sure you have a serious look
at all the free stuff inside
'The
Martial Arts Vault'!
|
|
There
is so much to learn, and so much
new being added all the time
that you really can not have too many books
about training martial arts - at least not
in my opinin you can't :-)
|
Just
think about all the sports pshychology and
mental training, all the angles on self-defense
training, all the know-how on weapons training,
all the stuff about learning kata, solo
training, partner training, how to avoid
injuries and so on, and so forth...
|
There
are volumes of budo litterature that are
dedicated to, say ground fighting, or to
the grappling arts as a whole, or to use
your hands and feet better for punches and
kicks. The list of books about training martial
arts go on and on. They can really help
you in learning your combative skills faster
and more correct. Combine steady an long-term efforts
with a great teacher and great books (and/or
videos), and you have yourself a winning
combination!
|
Also
something for the fighter:
|
There
are books here that covers how to train
for martial arts competitions. When your
aim is learning how to fight in order to
win, it is essential that you gain insight
about speed, strength, stamina, technique.
mental preparation, agility, nutrition,
rest, meditation, rules and more. Much
of this is stuff that you, partially or
fully can learn from books!
|
Why
not tell others about the books that have
helped you?:
|
Help
and be helped is a big part of being involved
with the martial arts people and community.
I am quite confident that you
have books about training martial arts that
others should know about! Why not send
us a note? If you have a picture and a review
I will be more than happy to include it
here!
