Martial arts links that are relevant is something there should be plenty off - just do a search on Google, and you'll find them in the millions (literally). Last time I entered the term 'martial arts', google returned close to 7.000.000 martial arts links. Wow!

So where does a boy or girl begin? Well... (clear throat and mild blushing), actually this could be such a place. And just why is that? I hope you ask this sort of critical question, and not just accepting my statements here at face value :-)

First and foremost because I personally go and check the links that are being put up here - one by one. If I find something that is interesting I'll add it, whether I like (or know) that particular art or not. Hey, this is not a resource site for me - it's a place for you! And of course your preferences may be totally different than mine. So the kind of martial arts links you'll want to find may not be the ones that I'd search for in depth. Speaking of martial arts links - I do include links to self-defense stuff also, of course!

Further I make sure that the links here actually are working. Using SiteBuildIt (SBI) makes this very easy, since you get regular reports about links not working. There's a lot of great fetures to SBI, but that's beside the point here!

I also include a brief description of each resource martial arts link being put up here to make things easier for you.

There are a few requirements and preferences I like to see before I can add a link to a website, a forum, a school, a newsletter, magazine or any other resource. Simple things really.

The requirements:

No flaming or profanity

Unfortunately this means that some forums are out of the question. Shame, because you'll find lot's of great info in many of the more "outspoken" forums. I just don't see the point in putting others down just to "preach the gospel" though. One man's ceiling is another man's floor, right?
Sure there are shady characters and dubious schools and systems out there - why should martial arts be any different in that respect?
My point here is this: Why not educate people to do qualified searches, in stead of putting other people, arts, systems and schools down by naming them MacDojo's or whatever it is?

No illegal content

This means no warez, hacks and similar. Also no hosting or distribution of content that is obviously copyright protected. A slip here and there can always be corrected of course...

No sensless violence

I'm sorry, but I don't find people seriously hurting other people or creatures on intent as being "funny" or "interesting". Seeing people being killed or obviously seriously hurt is not amusing in my book. Ok, other people may disagree, and that's fair enough. Still I won't post link to such stuff.

Preferably a "proper" domain name

A top-level domain (.org, .com, .net, .co.uk, .us, .ca, .se, .biz etc.) is always to prefer. Simply because there are less downtime and hassle with a proper domain name and a good host.

Preferably no pure business sites

A site which sells quality or hard-to find martial arts equipment may be included. Still, I prefer to link to special items in such cases instead of the site in question.

So there you have it:

On the following pages you will find martial arts links to schools, self-defense organisations, forums, resource web-sites, research, equipments an lots of other stuff.
