Consider this: We print stuff at the office or at home all the time. Using our desk-top printer we make special invitations, flyers, class schedules, hand-outs, information to parents, pictures and so on.

Now, today the printers themselves are not the biggest investment in the long run. What tend to be costly is the ink or toner cartridges. I have found that this is an area where web-based companies beat the prices of your average office-depot every singel time. Why? Because that is basically all the do - selling printer ink and toner online.

The pdf-format from Adobe is widely accepted as the absolute best way to deliver documents in electronic form, such as e-books.

If you consider making manuals, special reports, flyers, invitations (to openings, seminars etc.), then the way to go is pdf!

One small (for some, major) problem is that the original Acrobat program is costly (to say the least). Even if you can purchase the program at a school discount it is rather expensive. But the good news is: You can do without it.

How does it sound to be able to use free pdf utilities (plus Microsoft Word or similar, like Open Office - also free) to create really professional looking pdf documents, or even whole books (hey, why not create that book you always dreamt of making)?
